Geoff is a very experienced Sports and Exercise Physician with a background in the RAAF, Flying Doctor Service and general medicine. He has consulted in Darwin and Alice Springs since 1990
Geoff’s professional interests are very broad, having being involved in treatment, assessment and injury prevention in all sports for many years. Prevention programs are one of his specialities in active people or those wishing to be active.
Geoff also specialises in chronic illness prevention and treatment through the use of exercise as medicine and can advise on highly complex long term musculoskeletal and cardiovascular medical issues.
Geoff has a vast amount of experience in high level roles at major sporting events and clubs.
Medical Director of Alice Springs Masters Games since 1986 – 2013 and Arafura Games since 1991.
Consultant Medical Officer for the Summer and Winter Australian Paralympic team
He has been the consultant to the Northern Territory Institute of Sport
Has been team doctor to the Australian Men’s Hockey team
Chief medical officer to V8 Supercars in Darwin 1999-2000
Sports Physician at 2000 Sydney Olympics and Paralympics 2008
1st president and Foundation member of Sports Medicine Australia (Currently vice president and publicity officer)
As a specialist in Sports and Exercise Medicine, Geoff is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Sports Physicians.
