Gym
Our gym area complements the treatment administered by both Physiotherapists and the Sports Medicine Physicians. Territory Sportsmedicine is equipped with a large exercise area for the added convenience of demonstrating strengthening and rehabilitation exercises. By having an 'on-the-spot' gym area, patients are able to be shown 'first hand' techniques to assist in their rehabilitation
This area includes an exercise bike, treadmill, weight bench, vibration platform and a state of the art pneumatic HUR resistance pulley. As well as physiotherapy aids such as smartballs, wobbleboards and reformers. Our gym area can be used following a physiotherapy consultation for a small hourly fee.
Dry Needling
Dry-Needling is the needling of myofascial trigger points using a solid filament acupuncture needle to deactivate and help resolve trigger points. This treatment approach stimulates specific reactions in target tissues and can be used in a wide variety of injuries ranging from muscle strains to muscle spasm as a result of low back pain.
Real Time Ultrasound
Real Time Ultrasound imaging of the stabilising muscles of the lumbar spine is conducted by a physiotherapist and is ideal for accurate, objective assessment and biofeedback training of the vital stabilising muscles.
Who Will Benefit From Ultrasound Imaging?
Patients of all ages who may have:
- Poor core stability
- Mechanical back pain
- O.A conditions
- Obstetric back pain
- Pre and Post spinal surgery
How can Real Time Ultrasound Help Me?
Physiotherapists assess the deep muscle corset using Ultrasound. The muscle is viewed at rest and contracting. A specialised exercise program is then designed to meet the individual needs of the patient. This gentle program tones the deep muscles to protect and support the spine.
